9 THINGS KNOW BURBERRY FALL 2016.

Christopher Bailey presented his Fall 2016 collection for Burberry on Monday afternoon during London Fashion Week. In keeping with recent shows, this season’s included a live performance, a winding runway, and a star-studded front row.

1. Burberry erected a custom show space in Kensington Gardens, with clusters of seats and a curvilinear runway.

Burberry CEO and chief creative officerChristopher Bailey always has his ear to the ground for new music, and he invited British up-and-comer Jake Bugg to perform at the brand’s show in London today 22.2.2016.

3. Musician Jake Bugg performed solo at the center of the runway for the entire show.

7. Models had light gold glitter dusted around their eyes, similar to how it was worn at the brand’s men’s show, in homage to David Bowie.

8. Burberry introduced a new bag this season: the Patchwork, a petite shoulder bag with an oversize buckle.

The Secret Behind Burberry’s Glitter Eye Makeup for the Runway

Burberry shows tend to be a study in effortlessly undone English-rose beauty. But the Fall 2016 collection Christopher Bailey presented today, with its flashes of lamé and sequins, called for something a bit more Bowie-esque. Backstage, makeup artist Wendy Rowe used Burberry Eye Colour Cream in Charcoal No. 114 as a base for moody, metallic eyes on some of the models. After lining eyes with the brand’s Effortless Blendable Kohl liner and coating lashes with Bold Lash Mascara in Ebony No. 01, she finished with an application of the brand’s Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen and a haphazard dusting of large flecks of holographic glitter along the outer-eye corners and cheekbones of about half of the girls. “They’re tears of joy,” Rowe said. “Christopher wanted to mirror the eclectic feel of the collection with a gorgeous but deliciously disheveled girl.”
